The new 'work culture'

Since the time I have started working, I have heard many of my bosses and senior managers highlighting the term ‘work culture’. Initially I used to seriously consider and respect this so-called culture, however, with time and experience I have started mocking it. The reason is that it was just an invisible concept used to sound a bit sophisticated.       So what exactly is work culture? During the interview rounds, candidates are informed about the so called work culture and ethics which the company has that is different from everyone else. It is only once an employee starts working they get to know the reality of it. All this work culture or company rules are only on paper and they keep changing as per the conditions.       A work culture is something which emphasises uniformity and helps the higher authority remain unbiased towards their employees. But these days what we see as work culture especially in the private firms, is a one...

Aap koi celebrity ho jo aapka kaam jaldi ho jaega? (Are you a celebrity to get your job done faster?)

This is a statement I recently heard while visiting a bank in my city. It simply put a question into my head – what is the value of a common man? The moment you wake-up and pull out a newspaper to read what do you find in it? What do you see on social-media and television? What are we constantly being told? Whom are we all following? It is only some or the other person who has earned a celebrity status. Till you are a celebrity, you are a nobody. Eat like some famous actor, work-out to get a figure like this model, sleep like some celebrity guru tells you. Every now and then, you are only being told what all you should do that some or the other celebrity does.      My only question to everyone who propagates this celebrity culture is – Why can’t a common person be left like a common person? Is being a common person worthless? Why is it that only celebrities are given so much of priority, consideration and privilege at every point? I am sure people wor...

Suicide… Is It right?

It is very often said that something doesn’t really affect you till it hits you. The same is with the word “SUICIDE”. Till now it was just a word that scared me until my own brother decided to do it a couple of years ago. There is nothing in this world which can justify an act of taking one’s own life, yet nobody knows why people do it. As painful it may sound to anyone the fact of the matter is that it not only kills the person, but also the whole family trying to accept and come to terms with the tragedy. However, to take another view of the entire episode, I would like to talk about it with a different perspective of why sometimes it may be a personal choice to just “QUIT”.      To be very honest, human life is too complicated. I think a lot of people would agree with me on this point. To be born as a human itself is full of bondages created by other beings. Right from going to school, what food to eat, which friends to make and a lot more revolves around making...

PARTNER

Not a day has passed by, without praying to God, And the outcome I got is worthy of every applaud. All those moments of waiting, have now come to an end, My companion is a gem, my lover and a true friend. At times it is difficult to believe how we met, A miracle just happened which is no longer a secret. 'Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find.' Finally I have found what my heart had desired. To be yours for a lifetime has been the greatest barter,  A dream has been fulfilled with you as my partner.

TOXICITY

'Toxicity'- A trending word which is part of perhaps everyone's life - knowingly or unknowingly. I have used the word with the two paradoxical intentions because that is how we all may have perhaps dealt with it.  Beginning with our childhood, living in homes where parents bring their work frustration and use violence to control their kids makes the home environment - TOXIC. As a result, many children miss out on having an affectionate childhood and sometimes may become totally cold hearted. As an adult, many people may come across friends whose bullying can be toxic leading somebody to lose their self confidence unaware of how harmful that relation can be. However, since a majority of us spend most of our time at work space, I think it is this 'TOXIC WORK ENVIRONMENT' which needs our attention. Every now and then we hear about a lot of people unable to bear the work pressure which may lead to a mental breakdown or heart failure which is on a peak in our times. Hone...

Keep Moving

Life is too short to stop and halt; hence, keep moving, It is a series of experience one after the other, so, just keep moving. Whether the pace is too fast or slow; go with the flow and keep moving, Whether the tide is high or low, just keep moving. People may come and go, stay put and keep moving, Many may lift you others may give a blow; anyway keep moving. Some days you may be on cloud nine and on some you may hit a low; yet keep moving, Some days may go as per the plan, some may be a bolt from the blue; still keep moving. To have a good balance and be level headed, it is the best to keep moving, For what has once begun also has to be finished- so just keep moving.

Dilema

This way, that way, which way to go,  What to choose and when, I don't know.  Sometimes I hurry, sometimes I take things slow,  Sometimes the mind talks within to just go with the flow.  Today I am fresh, tomorrow is like a gloom,  Amidst this congestion there is no space to bloom.   Sometimes I feel good the next moment I feel sad,  There is so much confusion-at times things make me go mad. Such is the condition of the mind during CORONOA,  Throughout the day there is always constant Dilema.

IMPRESSION

Life is full of surprises where people come and go; Amidst this crowd, I found someone whom I would never let go. In a time when the entire world has come to a standstill; I see this beautiful heart and thank God for his will. A moment of thought came into my mind one day; How I wish to be with this lovely person someday. Don’t know when this feeling for you became so strong; With you, everything seems right and nothing wrong. For you are the one for whom I have always craved; Your name is now forever on my heart engraved. Forever your ‘impression’ will stay on my mind; There is nothing left in this world for me to find.

SHE

Treated as a second class citizen, only after her man, Today stands-up for her right to be treated like a human. Over the time, the one who has received only judgement, Today has made her own fate with sheer commitment. Carrying the labels of just a home-maker and a mother, Today has transformed herself into a “multi-tasker”. For years who has been celebrated only for her appearance, Today “SHE” celebrates her victory over her work and intelligence. Give her the freedom to choose her own guidelines, Wherever “SHE” is appreciated , a woman always outshines.

Degrees of Comparison v/s Degress of wisdom

So... After a long time, I thought of writing.. For all those who are constantly in the habit of comparing (including me of course). In this competitive world we all keep on striving to reach to the next level. But till when and where? It seems there is no point of satisfaction or complacence. A child as young as 3 wants to be like someone who is better than him? At 3?? Seriously?? What does it know at the age of 3? And for all of us, this is an alarm. what kind of a generation are we raising? It's good to have a healthy competition- but I think we all need to re-evaluate the exact definition of "Healthy" In this hypocrite world we all tend to refer to being healthy as being equal to perfection. There is nothing like perfect, it's just what each individual has the best in himself or herself which he/she has to realize. Children need to be motivated, not tortured or compared. The worst attitude that can destroy a child's mind is of inferiority complex. Once it d...

Silence

Why is it that the mouth can’t speak what the ‘Heart’ always wants; Why is it that we say something else and the mind always taunts? Why some conversations are incomplete even after so many talks; While certain moments become eternal just by casual walks. Why can’t we always understand what one means to say; Why is it easy to assume about things which are far away? Perhaps the only answer to all of them comes through “Patience”; The capacity to be able to hear within; which is the power of “Silence”. Listen to this voice and one day everything will make sense; It will make you pure and you won’t need any defense.

The Power of Motivation.. A Real Experience...

I had a true experience of what Motivation can do to people! Some of us have been really privileged of being able to attend good and reputed educational institutes. It's very important to shape our personality. But there are some who are talented but haven't been able to groom themselves very well due to lack of true mentors. That's what TEACHERS can do. They always have the power to mould you in the right direction so that you can come out in your true form. When a student constantly fails but doesn't know why, the teacher can give just an invaluable piece of advice to make him relaise it. I have recognized that just by motivating someone you can regain your own confidence in somebody's achievement. The happiness that trickles through the eyes of the person can give you eternal peace. Your "Job" shouldn't just be about earning money; if you are able to change the lives of people around you then it can add into the account that can give you lifet...

OH WOW!! I AM IN LOVE!! WAKY WAKY!!! TIME FOR A REALITY CHECK!!

Oh so… You see… Everyone has a point in life when they just see a glimpse of that “Special Someone” and feel like…. Oh My God! It’s got to be him/her. The perfect one, meant for a lifetime. And all of a sudden even nature is with you. Everytime you think of this person you co-incidentally dash into eachother! And your feelings, emotions or whatever just gets stronger and stronger. You start living in a world of complete fantasy and imagination. Everything in life seems to be right! (Including a song that suddenly becomes your all time favourite because you start relating it to your present situation   ) And finally you proclaim inside your mind…. Yes!! I am Love Is this what we really call Love? Well not our fault.. That’s how we are shown about what people in love are supposed to feel . Our concept of “Love” is just a goody goody image which is only an illusion. Of course the first step in love is to get attracted towards a person. But is that it? Just starting to like the person...

HOW TO EXIT THE FRIENDZONE... An interesting Article...

“I’m not ready for a relationship. Can we just be friends?” “No.” I date. Usually, first dates go pretty well. Whether it’s a doghike or a play or an event of some sort, we choose activities that are fun and worthwhile for both of us whether we wind up connecting, or no. If we connect, second date. If we don’t, that’s it. But sometimes, often, between the first and second date, or second and third, I enter the Twilight Zone: the realm of “hard-to-get,” a land where texts are replied to an hour or two or 12 or 32 later, if at all. And it’s hard: it’s hard to let go, and move on, when we’ve invested time and care in connecting with another. But it’s necessary. There are few excuses for not getting back to someone—whether on Facebook, text, voicemail (if you’re old school). Genuine excuses include: I don’t use Facebook, I was in a meeting/didn’t have my phone/phone was off. A good excuse rings true. But overlook an excuse and give a second chance, a third chance, and we’...

(An Essay)A person's worth nowadays seems to be judged according to social status and material possessions. Old-fashioned values, such as honor, kindness and trust, no longer seem important.

‘Man is not of what he is but of what he becomes.’ It’s not about the quantity but the quality of life that matters. However it is a harsh reality of the modern society that a luxurious life is prioritized over ethical values. The most crucial reason behind this craze for attaining social standard is “Materialism”- a phenomenon so popular that people have forgotten the value of life and fear of death. The standard of living today is dependent on the ownership of plush and fancy assets that one possesses, rather than following the path of honesty and peace. The matter has worsened with the global increase in corruption rates. The fact the human wants are unlimited makes the scenario more vulnerable to crime thus leading towards a situation of unrest. Furthermore, the society today mocks at people who stand up for their rights or fight for the underprivileged. The fatal acts of terrorism around the globe are nothing but a rebellious movement from the victims of discrimination and ex...

TIME

Wait and be patient for the best is yet to come; The world will be still, it will be a shock for some. Wait and bear the pain that you get with a smile, The phase won’t last; it shall pass within a while. Wait and watch for a new beginning is on your way, Struggle; for the Victory will come although it may delay. Wait and let things unfold themselves on their own; Forget and leave the past for it has already gone. Wait and enjoy the moments of this time; Ask and you shall seek; Give time sometime.

LIFE

So yet another Bollywood actress (Jiah/Nafisa Khan) commits suicide. Why? What’s wrong with people today? We all talk about building up our social quotient- there’s none today who doesn't own a smart phone. Then why is that people are choosing to commit suicide rather than stick around and enjoy life!! I am sure that there will be multiple answers to my question. Still the point is what kind of life are we all living today? We talk about saving tigers, water, plants- we fight against child labour, women’s right, human trafficking. We try to create awareness for everything that is around us but why not something that is inside us. L(Love)-I(Identity)-F(Faith)-E(Ego). Why can’t we focus on LIFE that is so precious? Why don’t we learn to acknowledge ourselves as and how we are? What is it that forces us to constantly compare ourselves with others around us? What is it that stops us from appreciating our own achievements? We give it the name of PRESSURE- Pressure of becoming not go...

GRATITUDE

A voice inside me has always been telling, You are a true friend whom I had been missing. Your kind of companion I have always dreamt, Whose coming has quenched the thirst I felt. You have been with me through every thick and thin, Without any demand, you have given from within. To express my gratitude, words are not enough, For the one who is a reason behind my smile and laugh. Such beautiful and deep has been our relation, I thank God for such a wonderful creation.
